How Do Fragrances Effect Mood?

Most of us don't consciously realize the way that we use scents and fragrances to evoke pleasant or unpleasant reactions from other people. Even though we do so every day. We ideally want to evoke a positive response from others but sometimes the way that we use fragrances backfires on us. When a person tries too hard and uses too much fragrance it can be a turnoff.

Sometimes a good fragrance will evoke an unpleasant mood in people whom we come into contact with simply because they may have an unpleasant memory associated with it.

I have also seen people choose a popular fragrance over the one that worked best with their body chemistry. Sometimes this works but I always recommend that you choose what works best for you rather than what everyone else is wearing.

Perfumers create fragrances to have a theme. The purpose of that theme is to have a certain influence on both the wearer and the people who smell the fragrance. The name of the fragrance will generally reflect the theme.

When you purchase a fragrance you should certainly consider the name that the perfumer gave to it because this will be the major influence of it's fragrance.

Choose the fragrance that you will wear based on the purpose that you have in mind. For example the fragrance that you would wear on a first date will be different from what you would wear to a business meeting.
